About the Firm
Welcome to Cascades Human Rights & Employment Law!
We are a small, female-led employment law firm located in eastern Toronto, Ontario. We provide quality, affordable legal services for employees and survivors of discrimination of all income levels and backgrounds. Our goal is to provide transparent, thorough legal advice and quality legal representation to clients in every matter. We offer compassion, practical advice, and a trauma-informed approach to every case we take on.
We believe that cost and language should not be barriers to accessing legal services. We have interpreters available to assist clients who do not speak English, or who are more comfortable discussing legal matters in a language other than English. We can thus serve clients in any language.
In our effort to make our services accessible, we are also committed to transparency around our legal fees. We believe that quality legal representation for workplace and human rights issues should not be a luxury. We have deliberately priced our services at far below market value in comparison to traditional legal practices in order to be as accessible as possible for as many people and communities as possible. We offer services both in person via booked appointment at our main office, located at 895 Don Mills Road, Suite 900, Toronto, ON(opens in new tab), as well as remotely over Zoom and telephone.

Cascades Law combines experience and thorough understanding of the law with a deep understanding of what the diverse communities in and around Toronto need. We have over a decade of experience representing non-unionized workers in negotiations, in courts, and in tribunals on complex issues. We also represent survivors of sexual assault in civil lawsuits for damages, as well as individuals who are facing discrimination in housing, services, vocational associations, attttnd contracts. Our founding lawyer, Richa Oza, is known and respected for her precedent-setting advocacy in workplace human rights and on behalf of vulnerable workers.
Through interpretation services, we are able to assist clients of any background, language, or ethnicity. We have also designed our fee structures to be accessible and affordable for individuals as much as possible.

Meet Richa
Richa Oza is the Founding Lawyer at Cascades Law P.C. For the past decade, Richa has built a reputation as an ethical, fearless, and passionate advocate for vulnerable workers. Beginning her career at a leading employment law boutique, Richa worked in Ontario’s community legal clinic system for most of her career. There, she represented low income workers in all aspects of employment law, from initial advice all the way through to trial. She has won precedent-setting decisions for her clients, some of which are noted below. She is particularly known for her work in human rights and anti-discrimination. She has appeared before the Superior Court, the Divisional Court, the Federal Court, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, the Canadian Industrial Relations Board, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Social Security Tribunal.
Outside of her practice, Richa has devoted significant time to making the legal profession a better place. She was Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Women Lawyers’ Forum between 2019 and 2020. From 2017 onwards, she has served on the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto’s Board of Directors, including most recently as its Treasurer. She has been featured in the CBC, the Globe and Mail, and the Huffington Post for her advocacy and public legal education work.
Richa founded Cascades Law in 2026 in an effort to fill a growing gap in access to legal services for workers whose incomes are too high for legal aid, but still too low for traditional legal services. Her passion for social justice is what drove her to become a lawyer, and still fuels her advocacy efforts. Richa is pleased to offer legal advice and services in Hindi, Urdu, and English.
In addition to being a lawyer, Richa is also a wife, friend, niece, cousin, proud maasi (aunt) to her best friends’ adorable kiddos, trained kathak dancer, avid Bollywood fan, K-drama and C-drama connoisseur, and a huge foodie.
Cascades Law is founded in the loving memory of Richa’s late Nana (maternal grandfather), Ram Nath Vashisth: an educator, a loving father, the person who taught Richa to read and write Hindi, and the first person to encourage the women in his family to study and aim higher.
